My Musical Inspiration

Music is such a huge part of dance and being a dancer. I have a dad that is a percussionist and always plays wonderful music. Because of that, I have always been immersed in a musical world. My favorite kinds of music would be classical (how could I not, I'm a dancer after all), jazz, Broadway, and movie soundtracks.

Today I am going to share some of my favorite music with you. I know that not all of this music will appeal to everyone, but if your tastes are similar to mine, I hope you enjoy! Most of these can be found on YouTube.

Get Happy - Judy Garland

An American in Paris - George Gershwin

I Could Have Danced All Night - Audrey Hepburn

Lucky to Be Me - New Broadway Cast Recording

I Like to Move it - Jock James

Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon

Better When I'm Dancin' - Megan Trainor

Try Everything - Shakira

Evermore - Dan Stevens

Happy - Pharrell Williams

Ballet Suite No. 1-4 - Dmitri Shostakovich

Feel free to let me know what you think!

Until next time,

Amanda
