The Dreaded Seasonal Allergies

It's that time of year again. The time when pollen floats through the air and mold grows on houses and fences. Spring can be a pretty awful time of year for those who suffer from seasonal allergies. I've written a lot about boosting the immune system and how to use food as medicine, however, today I wanted to gather up all of my old posts and add a few new things specific to allergies.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, it's often due to lowered immune function and sometimes low gut function. You will remember that most of your immune system exists in your gut. One of the best ways to improve your symptoms is by giving your immune system a boost.

Vitamin C, D, E, garlic, sleep, and low stress levels all contribute to overall health. When you provide your body with everything it needs naturally, it is able to function properly for you. For example, here are a couple posts I did about the importance of Vitamin D: Vitamin D and The Importance of Vitamin D. I also wrote a post all about napping and its benefits: Taking Power Naps is Beneficial. This post is one of my favorites as it deals with stress and its effects on your body: Finding Ways to Overcome Daily Stress.
